Description
This 6-day Great Migration Safari is ideal for travelers who want to witness one of Africa’s greatest natural wonders up close. Every year, hundreds of thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move in a continuous cycle through the Serengeti, following the rains in search of fresh grass and water. This extraordinary event, known as the Great Migration, is one of the most spectacular wildlife experiences in the world.
The main focus of this safari is on extensive game drives in the Serengeti, where, depending on the season, you will have the best chances of seeing huge herds, predators, and with some luck even dramatic river crossings. The Serengeti is famous for its endless plains, exceptional wildlife density, and truly wild atmosphere. In addition to the migrating herds, you may also encounter lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, elephants, giraffes, and many other animals.
Another major highlight is the world-renowned Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places in Africa for outstanding wildlife viewing. Inside the crater, a remarkable concentration of animals lives in a relatively small area, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, hyenas, and, with some luck, even rhinos. The combination of the Great Migration and the Ngorongoro Crater makes this safari especially impressive.
This tour is perfect for guests looking for a classic mid-range safari with a strong focus on the Great Migration. You will travel in a comfortable 4x4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof and be accompanied by an experienced safari guide who knows the seasonal movements of the herds and can take you to the best viewing areas. Accommodation is provided in carefully selected mid-range lodges or tented camps, offering the ideal balance between comfort and an authentic safari atmosphere.
This safari is ideal for couples, families, photographers, nature lovers, and anyone who wants to experience the famous Great Migration in Tanzania.
